Last fall, my dear friend, E, and I booked a conference at Walt Disney World. The medical conference is for three half days … the perfect set up for a great family vacation. This will be the first time JP, AA, and Baby J visit the Magical Kingdom. Over the last several months, E and I have agonized over the details of our 5 day trip. It's crazy how much planning is required just to see Mickey! We quickly agreed that we would NOT tell the kiddos of this trip until just a few days before departure. During these months, mention of our trip came up nearly each time we get together … I'm very surprised JP never spelled out D-I-S-N-E-Y!
We decided to tell our kiddos separately about the upcoming trip - and wait to just "run into" each other at the airport. My kids will go crazy when they see Brayden and Landen wearing the same Mickey shirts next week!
We have a busy weekend planned, so A and I picked tonight to break the fun news. I must admit, JP and AA's reaction to the big news was not what I had expected. I literally thought they'd start screaming and jump on the sofa.
We sat the kids down, made them smile:
Their comments: "Oh, a shirt?"
It literally took many many questions for them to figure it out:
"We're going to Disney World!"
