FOUR!

She's FOUR!

We've been counting down to this day for the last few months.  Her excitement almost cancels out my sadness - I just can't handle how quickly the days are passing.   Last night AA told me, "But Mamma … I can't stay three forever!"  She's right.  But I can still wish for it!

We normally try to escape The City on our birthday days as a family - but this year we decided to stay local and spend the day celebrating AA's way.  Our day started at 5:45 AM with the normal birthday doughnuts for breakfast (on a Frozen plate of course).

All of her presents were opened by 6:30 AM.
Her favorite?  A Frozen karaoke machine!
Daddy read the few words she didn't quite remember ….
and then we listened to "Let it Go" about twenty times amplified with a real microphone (why did we choose this gift again?).
While JP went to preschool, the rest of us attended AA's semester "Parent Observation" dance class - lucky for us to be on her birthday!

Next up?  A pedicure with Grandma K!  (Side note:  I think I was 24 when I had my first pedicure!)
All of the birthday fun is so tiring!
We asked AA what she wanted to do in the afternoon on her special day.  Her response?  SWIMMING!  Seriously?  After calling around, we finally opted to buy a day pass at the local YMCA and changed into our swimming suits despite the subzero temps (even me!) and we spent a few hours in the pool.  No cameras to show our adventures, but it I must admit … it was fun!  Baby J's first time swimming!

AA chose the "Choo-Choo" pizza place for dinner and managed to save room for her Frozen birthday cake.

Happy Birthday Little One!
