HALLOWEEN

(Wearing recycled costumes from last year!), we celebrated Halloween Big this year!

First event:  Dance Party (AA= Elsa)
Second event: Preschool Party (AA= Belle)
Third Event: Kindergarten Party (JP= Iron Man)
Fourth Event: Boo Run Run 5 K (AA= Lady Bug, JP= Superman)
Fifth Event:  Brayden's Halloween Party (Baby J= Lion, AA= Monarch, JP= Shark)

Sixth Event:  Neighborhood Parade (same costumes!)

FINAL event:  Trick or Treating for nearly 2 hours!

Now … what should we do with all of this candy?!

BOO RUN RUN

It rained.  And it rained.  And it rained.

But our enthusiasm for our first (family) 5K was not to be impacted.

Adam sprinted with Baby J in the single stroller, while I hauled the Big Kids.  Our total time was nearly twice as A's (44 mins), but we did it.  WE DID IT.  IN THE RAIN.  COSTUME AND ALL.

The kids ran for probably a mile … and there was just no way I had it in me to RUN while they both sat in the double stroller!  We have some room for improvement, but we all left with smiles!

SATURDAY FUN

Our local Children's Museum is certainly not the same as the Minneapolis Children's Museum - but it's a great place to use our imaginations for a few hours on a cold and wet morning!

FRIDAY NIGHT

Plan A was to fly with Daddy this weekend and spend the day with him at a hotel while he had a 30 hour layover.  At the last minute, the standby flight list looked horrible.

Plan B was to have NOTHING planned this weekend.
It's Friday night.
The fireplace is on.  The Big Kids fell asleep ON me at 7:38 during our 1000th viewing of Frozen.

Somehow I think this weekend is going to turn out okay.

RED BARN

Seriously.  This fall weather, week after week has been ah-mazing.

I find myself telling the kids "Let's play outside today because this is probably going to be the last nice day"… and then another one comes, and another one.

And today was no exception.  We took the kids to the Red Barn Learning Farm.  We got dusty.  We got dirty.  And we probably even got smelly.  But, this new destination was fun for all.
JP and AA rode a pony:

(AA's pony was a little more feisty; she handled it well!)

And Baby J was in heaven with all of the animals!  We pet several different kinds of donkeys and goats (they even had the fainting goats … you can imagine what Mr. A and A tried!).  We watched the ducks, bunnies, pigs, and cows play.  We chased the kittens, and played on haystacks.

Today was just maybe the last nice day of the season!
