It's a Boy!
While all other family members waited until they arrived at the hospital to discover the gender of Uncle J's and Aunt K's new baby, JP and AA begged (I mean BEGGED) me to "text Aunt K" as soon as I told them of our latest family addition this morning. And since we weren't planning on getting to the hospital until mid afternoon, I just knew it was going to be a LONG eight hours of begging if I didn't. Within minutes, we heard back: "It's a boy!"
And the comments and questions started:
JP: Yes! Now Uncle J will have boy toys to play with!
AA: Was Baby Charlie born with a diaper on?
JP: I wonder what color of eyes Baby Charlie will have.
AA: Will Baby Charlie have light skin or dark skin?
JP: I think light skin … AA, typically all families have the same color of skin.
AA: Will the doctor cut Baby Charlie's skin when they cut the cord?
JP: Did the police come to get Aunt K and take her to the hospital?
And it was love at first sight.
There's definitely something magical about watching my own baby brother become a father (now twice!).
And there's even something more magical when my own children get to hold the tiny miracle.
